| I suspect the majority of grain farmers (I'm going to keep using the word "grain" because I'm not a rancher or a vegetable farmer or whatever else so I'm avoiding speaking for groups I don't interact with much if at all) wish most if not all of the subsidies for farmers would stop.
In the circles I'm in, I could be led to believe that it's a large majority instead of a small one.
If that's true, why does it keep happening? Is it because the minority who wants it is more vocal? Or are ag lobbyists funded by entities other than grain farmers? Maybe ag lobbyists are funded by ag banks and equipment mfg's and so on and therefore don't actually represent the desires of grain farmers?
Or am I just way off base and most grain farmers do want as much gravy as we can make the government dish out? |
