Subject: Recording a variety plot with InCommand 1200 + yield monitor

Bremen, KS
We have a couple of private variety plots, one for corn and the other for beans. Both are planted in 6x30 inch rows per variety. With corn this doesn't seem like much of an issue as we also have a 6x30 corn head. Beans would seem to be a bit of a challenge getting things set right as we have a 20 foot flex head. Normally we can cut eight rows with it per swath but when doing a variety plot about five feet or two rows worth are going over previously cut stubble. I am using RTK and while I've seen Auto Swath work so far in corn sometimes it seems to "forget" that an overlap is happening over a previous pass. With beans and having a planned overlap, I'm a bit uncertain as to how to address this.

My second question is probably more basic, I see mention in the manuals to use the region feature for some form of variety tracking. Will I configure a region for each variety and select them before each pass?

TIA
