NC KS | I assume you cash rented the pasture so just like cash rented farm land, tenant pays 100% of fertilizer bill. Approaching the owner about paying for some of fertilizer would have bad results and you would not be the tenant any longer than current contract.
Out here in Kansas with our rainfall and grass, fertilizer on certain grass mixes doesn't pay a return. Brome grass definitely likes fertilizer and will increase tonnage but native grasses don't.
