A few years ago I had some skid steer axle shafts worn where the bearings sat. I had them welded up and machined back to spec. They all ended up breaking at the weld. And that was on a light duty 1200 lb capacity machine. So, no, I wouldn’t weld that pin.
Is it safe to weld up a hitch pin?
