| teach84 - 4/3/2025 07:52 Unfortunately, locked/unlocked has two meanings concerning cell phones, (1) access to open the phone, (2) dedication to a specific carrier- or not( unlocked). Of course - in this case the O.P. is talking about access to the phone. Apple got into a pissing match years ago with the FBI over their request to open a phone from some criminal situation. Somebody help me out here, I forget the exact situation, but I know it was highly political. Apple was refusing to cooperate on the grounds that once the FBI learned the technique, they could violate the privacy of anyone anywhere at any time. I do not remember the ultimate outcome: I just simply forget.
FBI lost; they haven't cracked the failed Trump assassin's phone either |
