Yes oxytocin helps in the let down of milk. In this case, I don't think it will help (high cortisol levels will inhibit oxytocin). Her cortisol levels are probably through the roof from the stress of being penned by herself. The high cortisol levels will also decrease milk production. Best option would be to pen another pair or 2 with her to get her to relax. Keep a close eye on the calf to make sure he's not going backwards.
