Kettle Moraine, WI | I have a notes app on my phone for some things, but for flow of information sake and time stamp, I email myself when I do a field operation with vital data. Quick notes, don't need to list date because the email with list that, and then I have a sequential listing of activity.
Going off of what Farmer087 said above. A simple Excel file may involve "cell highlight rules". You would have an input cell with a date if important action and then enter a "rule" to highlight cell by changing text color if value exceeds parameter. Equally you could draft a formula from origin cell to give a actual value and you cell highlight based on your rules, but you would have easier setup controlling parameter and changing them instead of the rule created within cell highlight directly.
How many fields do you have? I could draft a quick example of not too many parameter you want. I think "days from last field operation" is what may give you close to what you want.
Edit to add: I send emails to myself and have an Excel file to record data while archiving emails.
