SW WI | Well this is ironic……
First tariff war of 2018 ish, China was a huge importer of pork, yep, they slapped some retaliatory tariffs on our products. It had a bad effect on our hog prices.
Talk was we needed to not rely on China as the bulk of our exports. The new NAFTA was negotiated, Mexico was seen as a growth market, possibly more stable than the unreliable China demand.
