All those wells must have had massive issues to take that long. There was a well drilled on land my family owns now that was drilled in 1970. 8600 ft spud to plug was 31 days. Another one I know of in 1973 was 11,200 ft in 42 days.
Those would have been vertical wells and what on earth were they looking for over 2 miles down?
The Bakken is 2,500 to its known deepest in a "pit" area of 11,000, plus you're lower down there. Three Forks? Exploration wells? |
