Not a lot of room for a compressible gas inside the case. There are one way vents to let pressure out gradually. Given a choice of an EV battery being heated externally or a gas tank, I think I'd choose the EV battery as being less safe. I'm sure your training has covered BLEVIs. I'd be much more worried about a 20 lb. propane tank than a Tesla pack.
