In my short time on this rock: Plymouth, Mercury, DeSoto, Imperial, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Nash, Hudson, Kaiser, HenryJ, IHC, AMC, Saturn, DeLorean, Tucker, Hupmobile, and LaSalle come to mind. If not for massive bailouts from the Government, all GMs brands, and all Chrysler/Dodge brands would be gone too. Likely Ford too.
I'd be interested if you could link a post where I have claimed that EVs will save the world.

True Ed, alas you were my target and likely unjustified, for that I do apologize, but there is a Clan of EV proponent that are oblivious to all the drawbacks EV have and keep pushing
them in all facets of our life. Like I've said there is a place for them, a small one at that in very defined environments.
I'm not the only one that sees this, manufacturers do as well, Only Governments are blind to this.
At the speed that things are going a new form of energy will be found soon that will not have the problems EVs have. (Probably new ones)
If I were in an urban environment I would consider an EV, but only consider it, till the battery replacement cost comes down to Earth.
