Not so much for a manure spreader as that can wait another day if needed, but a livestock guy should ALWAYS have a backup plan for feeding livestock.
We have 2 feed mixers for this exact reason. The "backup" machine doesn't get used a lot but when its needed, its ready to go. And as I type this, we've been using it for the past 2 weeks. We have the parts for the one that is down, just need to get it put back together.
