That was my question in my post also except I forgot to add in the savings on taxes. So to me his return should be the total of $740,000. $1 million- $400,000. (Cost of tile) + $140,000 (tax savings) = $740,000. Plus the compounding of the return after about 3.25 year after the tile is paid for.
