I didn't say most houses have garages here. I said most garages were built for 1-1.5 cars. 

I know of one house for sure that has no garage...not any longer anyway.

Your potential solution sounds great on paper....or on a screen. But, ICE car(s) would always have to stay out of the driveway until EV car gets home & into the garage. Park along the street, then when EV car comes home, move vehicles again. That sounds very easy. Sometimes you just have to be "here" to see the problem. 

Out on the farm...no problem. But in our huge town of 1000 that I have lived in or around for a long time, I see problems w/charging & storage.
