Range anxiety is just a fear. They said the same thing about diesel pickups pulling 25 years ago: "... with a gas truck you can always find a station, not many statuons carry diesel..." there are very frw places in tge US that have sisgns saying Next fuel stop 80+ miles and in those areas you stop and fill when pulling a trailer, but those are tge exceptions.

Now when I sit back and look at the year in review, we put 28,000 miles on our pickup, there was on average 1 trip per month that went out of a 100mi radius of home, of them only 1 trip that required refuelling before getting home. The remainder were under 260mi per trip and would be "in range" for most EVs. There are times my dustance to E will show under 120mi and I will drive all week before filling up. The reality the average owber does not drive enough for EV range to be an issue.

The Pareto Principle says 80% of outcomes come from 20% of causes. In vehicle tank range 400mi range comprises 99% of trips so focusing on the 1% if trips as needing a 1000mi range is about as absurd as saying I need a class 8 truck as a daily driver because once every couple years I need to rrnt a D8 dozer so I need a truck that can haul a D8 and the rest of tge time the largest thing haueld is a side-by-side or 4 wheeler.

Back to numbers. Everyone makes like they routinely drive 200 miles per day so need big charge everyday. With 365 days per year and 200 mi/ day that us 73,000 milrs per year; with $3 fuel and 24mpg that us $9000 in fuel evety year per vehicle; this is far from reality. Average vehicle is 12,000mi/yr with 300mi range that us 40 charges per year of once every 9 days. You guys are making a mountain out if a mole hill for range anxiety.

To me the ideal situation is a wireless charger in the parking stall above the vehicle. Pull into garage and it wirelessly charges evety night to full range at which point a 300mi range EV pickup will satisfy 99% of our high mileage driving needs. For the rare 1% when I am worried about time refueling I can take my ICE
