Subject: RE: My own personal EV experience

SW OH
A Ford Lightning would fit me perfectly. My normal daily drive is about 2 miles round trip. Once a week I might go on a 25 mile round trip. I don’t think my daily driver has been on a round trip of 400 or more miles in 10 years, or maybe ever. 95% of my hauling and pulling could be done with a lightning. My daily driver is a 7.3L powerstroke and seldomly gets to operating temperature. It’s also rusting away so badly my wife has refused to even ride in it for over 2 years.

However I currently refuse to even think about buying any EV or even a hybrid. Mainly because of the trendy hype and governmental push away from ICE. Cost, and reliability concerns are also big detractors. My daily driver only gets 3-4,000 miles a year so a new truck does not pencil out for me. In twenty years that’s 80,000 miles tops. Will a battery last that long and will there be any resale value at that point?
