Subject: Too much of a good thing?

Pittsburg, Kansas
When I was small a paper bag with an apple or orange and some assorted hard candy was the "treat" from school or church.

Then it became candy all year round and out of season fruit became available and cheap in the grocery stores so all year long.

By 30 I was diabetic. (40 years ago)

Significant sugar as a daily part of consumption is not a good thing. As a treat once-in-a-while not horribly bad. It has become too much a part of daily life in my opinion. From 5 pounds a year per person 150 years ago to a hundred pounds per person is too much of a good thing.
