central Virginia | Seems silly to me as well. Another word that comes to mind would be embarrassing. What would our neighbors think if they knew some of the farmers around them would find 20k? 40k? $100k in their checking account at the end of the month while doing a reconciliation..... and have no idea WHY it was put in there. At the end of the day it ends up in the hands of our suppliers.... the ones where everyone involved gets a company truck, health care, retirement, weekend off, climate controlled. And farmers continue to make commodity prices of 40 years ago pencil with today's inputs.
