Chebanse, IL..... | But, how do you solve the problem of "no garages" to recharge in?
As Pretender guy points out, many areas have only street-side parking, or just a simple driveway.
Take for instance Chicago. Some suggested the big city was a great fit for EVs. Must be millions of vehicles parked along the streets. I know it's not your problem, but how will they hook up to charging? Maybe the auto owner owns the house/apartment, maybe not. If you were to put up charging posts, they'd be knocked down faster than the cable fence separating I-57 traffic lanes.
In my small town, there's not as many garages as there was 50 yrs ago. Plus, garages used to be built for 1-1.5 cars here. Now most families have 2+ cars per.
The recharge thing is a problem unless you have a relatively new structure. Converting the 100 yr old + houses in Chicago would be impossible. |
