scmn | My understanding is you can charge with AC and are limited to 12kW of the onboard charger, however, when charging DC the rate can be much higher since the onboard charger is bypassed and is how a super charger works. The super chargers are powered via 480V 3ph, which is likely what he was refering to. With 250kW at 250V 1ph it would require 1000A service vs 480V 3ph at 376A. Much smaller wiring for a super charger for 480V 3ph.
