FarmingMo - 12/23/2024 19:50 How so? We all ain't pushing 70 with a bunch of payed for land and machinery coup. Some of us need the bank still

He's an arrogant SOB.   You've clearly done everything wrong.

He's never had his financials  murdered by somebody owing him a ton and filing BK.   (if nothing like that has happened to you, VeraSun, anybody?)   He doesn't seem to have a clue what it's like to have even a family member have a divorce, drug problem, whatever, impact the operation, - bless his wife.   (Bless mine too, she is awesome- but I know of a lot of huge haircuts in divorce settlements....)   He doesn't have 20-30 years of payments on land that was once paid for to buy out 2-3 off-farm heirs like some people do because the "estate plan" (if such a thought even existed) sucked dog balls.

If you aren't buying all of your inputs at Bangkok whorehouse prices, and selling your bushels at St. Louis river terminal premium prices, you are an idiot.

I don't paint with such a broad brush, because I know there are a TON of different situations and struggles in the real world that people are just trying to survive.

You don't have a clue about me. After reading what you posted in this thread and the struggles that you have had in the past. Am willing to help you out. Will sell you chemicals and carry the chemical balance till Jan 26 @ 0% interest. Just need some contact info, will send you a price list and you can decide. Am not looking for more business but willing to do what can to help.

Crickets….Doubt there will be a response. I’ve got coups back. He’s a sharp business dude. Seems like I Think like him on most everything. This whole farming situation is not a price problem. Very much a spending problem. The problem is most don’t want to put in the work that coup does….let’s face it, managing inputs and being tight is ALOT of work. It’s a skill. It’s a mindset. The ability to say NO is one of the best traits a farmer can have. Ask yourself with every decision, will this add to the bottom line and then proceed. But you can’t just overlook that step and then complain that can’t make money. I understand everyone goes through hardships. Some waaaay more than others. Coup has one heck of an offer and I look foward to the gentleman’s response.
