Subject: RE: Christmas Sweets Traditions Gone?

Growing up my Mom would make lots and lots and lots of cookies around Christmas time. I can't even recall all the kinds, although I have the recipes for some.  My Mom was also good at baking chiffon cakes - Walnut Chiffon, Chocolate Chiffon, Orange Chiffon....

For us, pies were something we had at Thanksgiving - not so much at Christmas.

I recall Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve, the table would be set with all kinds of cookies, and cakes, and some candies.  We would go to Christmas Eve service at 11:00 pm, then come home and indulged in the spread.  We had a punch bowl which we mixed Hawaiian Punch and Ginger Ale.

I've made some cookies over the years.  This is probably the first year that I am not making any Christmas cookies.
