Sunburst Montana | jicasedeere - 12/24/2024 12:32 I remember when we switched from 9610 walkers to 9650sts rotor back in the day. Huge efficiency gains, but the repair bill also doubled. Not saying the X9 is double, but I would be shocked if you could get the average used X9 combine through an inspection cheaper than the average S780. I know my dealer would charge a "X9" premium just for the privilege of parking it into their shop! :) I understand when you go based off of capacity. Say a AF11 harvests twice as many bushels in a day as a 2388. The AF11 has a cheaper cost per bushel because it can harvest twice as many bushels in a day. (Just an example) So I understand that logic. I look at it based on what it costs me per acre to harvest the crops. I try and keep my harvest budget per acre under what custom guys are charging. Just the way I look at it. Right or wrong
We went from JD conventionals to the CTS to the rotaries too and never saw repair bills double. How did you do that? If anything I think the rotaries were cheaper per acre to maintain than the conventionals. Our first JD rotaries were 9770s. |
