I dont like the ones that come in from the side, as when you have a string of cattle in there and one lands right where the stop is - when its gets pushed back it closes tighter and tighter on its neck or ribs.

They seem to use these ones by hand, which is a bit better as long as you fill it stage by stage.


I can see your concern. I think with this style have them laying flat and then when you get the alleyway full pull the back one out to stop. As you work the cattle forward use the next stop


Our vet has ones that drop down from the top and if they are not adjusted right for the height of the cattle the cattle really balk and don't want to go under them. Have to constantly adjust the chains.


Looks like a lot of side ones would also cause cattle to balk.

I think the ones pictured would work pretty good. I like the idea of them over putting a bar in behind the cattle.

Better yet would be hydraulic doors!!! Lol
