NW KS | The way hiniker setup those cooler is that they used 2 normal distribution lines from the manifold and run them through the cooler to flash some nh3 from liquid to gas and run the mix to the knife. The inlet is the smaller hose and the outlet is the larger hose. The thinking behind the 2 hose sizes is that you need the larger hose since some of the nh3 will now be vapor and take up additional volume.
Most other NH3 coolers use a small metering orifice to run a set amount of nh3 to the cooler. Nearly all of the metered nh3 is changed to vapor for cooling and the run to a vapor only tube on a knife. | |
