We had a neighbor that did the basement thing, they ended up living in that basement for about 10-15 years...the guy had a drinking problem, & the wife finally said stop drinking & build a house or I'm leaving...he put up a nice log house, but didn't kick the booze for a few more years. Wife stayed, she liked her new house...
So how much cheaper can a Shouse or Barndominium be built vs a ranch home?
