Kansas | While online auctions are "as is where is," there has to be some accountability from the auction company. The buyer has to be able to trust what is in print on the item description. Otherwise, what will stop the auction companies from printing misleading info and simply telling the buyer they should have looked at it in person prior to the auction. Clearly the item will bring more money if the description is embellished a little or a lot, so it is more favorable to both the seller and the auction company to mislead the bidder on the condition, age, options, hours, acres, ect. Online auctions, however, are built on trust and honesty from everyone involved so the bidder has to be able to feel confident in the printed description. I would for sure discuss this with BigIron and the seller's rep to alert them of a misleading item description. They have a process for handing disputes and time is of the essence. I will say though, in my experience, BigIron is one of the more trustworthy online auction companies with their pictures and descriptions. | |
