There is a guy on you tube J Paydirt that has a good video about this. He thought the Cummins one was Chinese also. He sent his a a machine shop to get less endplay on the gears. I think he put a washer under the relief to give it a little more oil pressure also. He also made some changes to the oil cooler thermostat. Might be worth a watch. That oil pump looks replacement worthy to me. The N14 at work runs 18-20 psi idle and 40-42 WOT hot. We did replace the oil pump at one point and I think we used a PAI.

I seen that video before and though I agree with shimming the spring in the oil pump, I’m not necessarily sold on bypassing by using a freeze plug and or eliminating the thermostat. Informative, nonetheless and I remember him grinding on the oil pumps cast housing to fit but not touch the side of the block. I think Interstate McBee sells an oil pump but I my be presuming.
