Ft. Ripley MN
You essentially just proved my point….

You’re right just me by myself doesn’t do anything to move the needle but I get along just fine staying out of the FSA office. One lone wolf changes nothing… my point was agricultural on a whole needs to stand up and say no more we don’t want this… right now we are all working for the government when the government should be working for us.

I have found how to make the product/commodity I produce more profitable… so why not chase that avenue isn’t of complaining prices suck and we need a government subsidy to fill the gap??

Like I said I could be wrong but that’s just what I see. Until we as a collective can stand up and say enough is enough nothing will ever change. I guess just keep collecting your government subsidies…

I’ll probably get in trouble for this and you guys are gonna say I’m wrong but the way I see it is… you can’t keep on doing the status quo and expect a change… until your willing to grab the bull by the horns and do something about it then why complain?? Been none stop talk lately about how no one is making money and all gonna be broke next year… and then it turned into ooo the government is giving us money how much are we getting and how soon is it gonna be deposited!!! Obviously there is things out of our control but maybe there should be more involvement from the producers of all the commodities and actually advacte markets for us? Because the current check offs sure are aren’t doing any good. Maybe we need to find a different market for our commodities??

At some point you need to stop fingering pointing that the next door neighbor or the large guy from 3 counties over or even China and Brazil are the problem. Sure maybe they are but that means you find a different avenue. The opportunity is out there for the folks that want it but don’t expect change if you stay the status quo route… I don’t farm next to you… I don’t know what you produce or your margins but I guess why not look for away to increase your own margins instead of hoping the government covers up the shortfall..

Maybe I should just quit coming to ag talk.. there are some knowledgeable guys on here but good lord there sure is a lot of whining with no actions to fix it

Have you ever heard of there is a million ways to skin a cat?? I’m sure there is a way for you to make it work. This country will not fix itself unless we can take accountability and be willing to help improve. That’s gonna require some sacrifice in some way
