Southeast Colorado | I believe most farmers don't like the current system..........but agree to play by it with its current set of rules. Land and input costs directly relate to the money available in that system. Therefore..........until you somehow level the entire playing field.........it does no good to die on the sword of no subsidies.
However, I do think that the BIG AG industry pushes the subsidies through. Our peon farm lobbies might be given the credit for passage (because it looks better to the public)...........but I think it's actually the bankers and folks like John Deere who really carry the stick in Washington DC.
Like I said on another thread.........Last week Megyn Kelly interviewed Steve Bannon (Trump's right hand man/enforcer) on her show last week and even he mentioned something about needing to get that farm aid out in the CR so that the "Bankers and Suppliers" could get paid. He just threw that off the cuff remark out in a matter of seconds.
