SE North Dakota
You read too much on here. I would say the majority of guys on here don’t want subsidies but from what I read on here are the guys that don’t want subsidies either own all their land or don’t farm very much at all. Which makes a huge huge difference. Trust me guys want subsidies. We all say that we don’t and that they should do away with this program and that program but we all fill out the paperwork and take them. There may be a few that don’t but it’s a small percentage. I for one feel programs get taken advantage of but they do try to change things in the crop insurance world to avoid some of that but it still happens. All I ever get told when I lose a field to flooding all the older guys will say yep that used to happen to us but at least you have insurance. Just like an automobile accident at least you got insurance for that. I know it would be hard for me to keep farming without crop insurance when you never know what kind of crop you going to get. There are some areas that don’t have to worry about that stuff seems like they can just throw the seed out the window and still get a good crop. Not in my experiences. Guess I rambled on enough.
