NW Illinois | That potentially could be true or not. In my case I have a very good distribution salesman. We talked about this the first week of August and immediately shipped all my 2025 needs under the premise that I was going to do a bunch of fall spraying. They may have not sold me full volume as a buy and hold for 2025. Price was similar to say about last March. My customers will be buying it, even with my margin, cheaper than I could buy it Dec 1. Pure luck for us. I normally don’t buy much before Dec 1. Yes, large retailers should be well informed and ahead of the game generally.
I have said many times the biggest card held in retail and the one most will never show is at what price they actually bought something for and how much volume was bought at that price. This information is often withheld from local sales as well. That was done to “Pass the red faced test” for them to growers. If they don’t know there is a different truth than what’s told them, they aren’t lying to you knowingly. | |
