mercer county, il | I know in my experience, it’s tested, and our premium is based on purity.
Lots of “conventional” seed corn isn’t grown with isolation, is conditioned/handled in the same facilities as traited corn without a thorough clean out, the list goes on.
Several companies have kinda targeted the premium market, and typically market that corn as some type of non gmo, certified etc.
Becks, wyyfels, Agri gold, dyna gro (if it’s grown in France) and until recently pioneer have been really good in regard to purity.
Epleys is kinda a crap shoot on purity, DK had a dsm assure me some would pass and the best tested 14% gmo. If you’re selling into a premium market, best forget about any of the old Monsanto brands.
“Here” a .50c premium and better basis makes it a worthwhile endeavor to pursue purity. | |
