Subject: RE: soybean population

South Central Illinois

Just go with at least 135,000
10% will not emerge,
Says so on the bag,
Leaving 121,500 viable seeds,
1/3 will be too deep,
1/3 will be too shallow,
One of these two groups will not emerge,
This will produce 80,000 plants.
Maybe just go with 140,000

What is the soil productivity?
Good soil needs lower populations,
Poor soil needs higher populations.
