Iowa | Didn’t see any other threads on this, so figured I’d throw it out there.
I really enjoyed the first round. Granted the games weren’t that competitive, but it was nice to see a couple teams play (Indiana, smu) that would have been left out otherwise. Looking forward to seeing Boise State actually get to play for something after 20 years of being pretty good. Also looking forward to Arizona state - hadn’t seen them other than the big12 championship. Really liked the home team format - yes advantage to northern teams, but it’s been that way for southern teams for decades. It’s probably been since BYU in the 80’s that a non “blue blood” team has been in the mix this late in the year.
The national media is already spinning for more SEC teams - how can you be a national champ with a 75% win record? I’d rather see 1/2 loss teams from smaller conferences get their shot. Big ten/sec already wrecked it with their money hungry additions - supposedly they’re wanting 4 teams each in 2026- I like letting the little guys get a real shot too. It was exciting going into the last week of regular season games and having most of the top 25 with legitimate title dreams. | |
