Bonuses should be based on employee performance. You had opportunities to sell at very profitable levels, but didn't. You are penalizing your employees for your poor performance. Unless you have a separate performance bonus for your employees, then this would be considered more of a gift or profit sharing than bonus. That's probably something I need to work on for my own employees.
