swmn | So we are working on setting up to plow some tile next year on our farm. We don't own a lot of acres but could definitely benefit from a little bit of drainage work on what we do have. I plan on pulling a Trimble 2050 out of our sprayer tractor, unlocking wm-drain and putting it into the four wheel drive to control an older Wayne's plow. The 2050 is unlocked for RTK with the internal VRS client and we have been using it with MnCors for years which has worked very well for running the sprayer down 30 inch rows. It doesn't have a radio and I don't have a base station currently.
My question is does anyone currently plow tile on MnCors? We are located in Renville county about 5 miles as the crow flies from the Morton reference station. How is the vertical accuracy and will it be sufficient to do grade work or do I need to come up with a radio and base station? I'm always trying to keep costs down but I understand that putting tile in is a one shot deal and I want it to work when we're done. I know that the recommendation has always been to have a base in the field but I'd like to hear some real world experiences. | |
