| I feel like this is the best response I've seen. Those saying keep feeding them don't know what it costs to put on those extra 150lbs. If they are nice and fat send them.

Can you do both? Do you care what year you see the income in? How many are you looking at in this group, does a full load matter in adding value or reducing freight or are they going to sell in small lots at the auction anyways?
Move the heavy end now, cash out of the market on those. Push the light end out 30-60 days and keep putting weight on. Spread your death loss/market risk and income out a bit.
Or keep pouring the coals to them, risk a dead one and a drop in the market for what could be a breakeven or loss. |
