I don't think they named it after me.
But what my wife and I have eaten in the last 6 years would be considered a low carb ketogenic diet and as time has passed by more of a focus on being mostly meat based. Look up "Dr Ken Berry keto 101" on youtube and you will get a good idea of how we eat.
It is more about what we DON'T eat instead of what we do. Basically we avoid starchy vegetables (because they raise insulin levles), we avoid added sugars (because they raise insulin), we avoid most fruit but have small amounts of berries (because most fruits are a sugar bomb and raise insulin), we avoid all grains (because they are high in starch and raise insulin levels) and we avoid fats like vegetable oils and stick to animal fats mostly.
The last thing, the oils, are not really needed to avoid for insulin reasons and they can be consumed and still be a ketogenic diet. We just don't use them for other health reasons.
Our initial reason for going to a ketogenic type diet was for weight loss. We got that eventually, but what happened to our surprise is we got much more healthy before very much weight loss. Then our healthier body regulated its own weight and came down naturally. We eat all we want at every meal. We never count calories nor limit them. We just avoid foods that raise insulin.
Insulin is a fat storage hormone (among many other uses in the body including growth). High insulin in the blood means excess energy goes to fat storage. Low insulin means fat burning mode (either consumed fat or body fat). It really is that simple. If you want to lose body fat, you HAVE to have low insulin levels. How to get low insulin levels???? Just don't eat the foods that raIse insulin levels. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE!
