Subject: RE: Tramatic brain injury and concussions

Pittsburg, Kansas
I still suffer from having poor balance when I get up from being inactive for a while (like sitting at a computer like I am right now). It seems to be the connection from my brain to my legs. I don't know how fast signals travel from the legs to the brain but lets say if it a few micro seconds. My way of explaining the feeling is it is taking instead of a few micro seconds it is taking a few hundred micro seconds. Like there is an ever so slight delay in the signals traveling to the brain. I never fall down, but I can feel myself stager as I walk more than I think I should. If a police officer stopped me and ask me to walk a straight line he would for sure think I was impaired.

Funny thing is it does not seem to affect anything above my waist. Scuba diving I feel perfectly fine. Riding motorcycles I feel perfectly fine.

When wife and I go out for morning walks I will start out wobbly a bit. Not terribly bad but a bit. During my walk/sprinting I get better and pretty feel much like normal by the 15 minutes we get back to the room. But once I sit still for a while the cycle starts over.

I thought this would eventually correct, and it may. But nerve turnover is very slow in the body from what I have read. Takes a long time to heal and the damaged cells to be replaced by autophagy. I was slammed pretty hard on the pavement by that deer collision. Split my motorcycle helmet 3 inshes on the back left of my head. I have put a picture of my helmet on AgTalk before. Colapsed one lung and damaged my collar bone and hip socket somewhat on my left side. Brain bleed for a few days while in hospital. Lung bleed for a month or so after released. Still get a little twinge from my hip somewhat regularly. I am very lucky to be alive and if another motorist had not witnessed tha accident and got emerbency people there like happened I probably would not be here. But I think I suffer from nerve damage somewhere in my lower spine or hips. I thank God every day for the privilage of being able to still enjoy his beautiful creation every day of whatever days I have left.

But I am rambling. I think I am going to start taking more exogenous ketones. Have been experimenting with it for several months but my very dear friend down here that has Parkinsons has a new ketone supplement that I have not tried that she gets great results in helping her manage her Parkinsons. Her husband says he gets a good ketone boost with his use. We will see. Can't order any till I get back home but they are going to give me a sample to try while down here. May have them order some for me. Ketones can fuel the brain in insulin resistant brains or injured brains. Being diabetic so long I surely have at least a small amount of insulin resistance left, although my fasting insulin test show pretty low. Around 6.

Again, I am rambling about stuff no one cares about but me. So I will stop. And go scuba diving!
