Deere SeedStar 2 planters are ISO, which unless it's been converted is what his planter will be.

The 7 pin 12v only powers the fold box and lights

Deere doesn’t use the ISO standard for most of their equipment. They just use the plug/can network with their own proprietary messages.

Do you have 12v power on the tractor plug? Some machines it’s possible to have can power and no ECU/hi current (12v) power.

My Deere seedstar XP also needed the 7 pin light plug connected as well to operate correctly. Been several years since I’ve had that planter so don’t remember what on the planter received power from that plug.
