SOIL | Back out making boundaries in the Gator using a G4 and an SF7000. I'm using RTK from DigiFarm to do this, and have for a couple years, but decided to go ahead and make them Autonomy Compliant, so I moved an RTK Ready activation from a 6000 to a 7000 receiver. I also received a 30 day SF-RTK demo from my dealership for experimentation purposes.
1: To be Autonomy Compliant, will DigiFarm RTK work with autonomous tractors, or is the plan to require SF-RTK?
2: By using a 7000, is it making it possible to switch back and forth between SF-RTK and DigiFarm or another source such as a dealer network? On the technical side, I wondered if it was still recording some SF-RTK coordinates in the boundary file even though I don't have a subscription...thus the reason the 7000 is required.
3: Whenever I drove next to a tree line, it was dropping part my SF-RTK signal and thus making non Autonomy usable. This is trees with no leaves, so it will be worse once spring arrives. DigiFarm did drop too, but I was able to hit the brakes, let the signal return and as long as I didn't move more than 5 meters, it did say it was still Autonomy Compliant. How do we remedy this situation since chopping down the trees isn't an option?
The reason I ask these questions is I still have several SF6000s in use, and have no plans to switch away from DigiFarm because of pricing. Also, my local dealer has said they don't plan to shut down their RTK network either...apparently it's an easy $100,000/yr. But I do like to future proof myself just enough that if an Autonomous machine was purchased, I'm not running around crazy at the last minute trying to make sure all my boundaries are in order either. However, if I record all my boundaries with one SF-RTK activated receiver without DigiFarm, then my 6000s boundary lines won't match.
