Central Virginia
What is your goal with planting alfalfa? Are you feeding your own cattle? I no till all my alfalfa with a 1590 drill. With your ph that low you could plant wheat right now, which would give you options for broadleaf control and a grain or hay crop. Do a burn down after the wheat is cut and plant sudangrass. You should get a couple cuttings of sudangrass and then have time to seed the alfalfa fall of '25. Get your lime on this winter and you will be in good shape next fall. How smooth is the field?
