The M11 and Deutz were both loud mouths because of the straight pipes. I remember the first day I was around a S77 in the field cutting soybeans with a 35’ Draper and thought to myself how bad an idea that straight pipe thing was for the company. Listening to that S77 cut beans was like listening to a well maintained sewing machine. Only thing you hear with those Gleaner with straight pipes was the bellaring exhaust. With the S series it was like music to the ears how sooth the material flowed through the machine. Just in and out….

With our R75 you could hear the damn thing coming up behind you sitting in the grain cart tractor even when you weren’t expecting it. That M11 was just plain loud and a lot more obnoxious than the 72 with the V-8 duetz for sure
