If you had it in gear, that’s why it wouldn’t start with key.
Also, sometimes when you have the gear shifter in Neutral, the shifter down below isn’t quite squared up in neutral so it still won’t allow it to start. Wiggle the gearshift lever a bit and it should go into neutral and allow it to start with the key.
