A guy in the area got himself a R72, this past year and I heard it running from about half a mile away and dang that thing is loud. I hope it’s got a good quiet cab. Not sure if it’s a Cummins or Duetz but I thought someone said it had a Cummins. I didn’t realize the M11, I think it is, sounded so much different than an 8.3 or N14. It literally sounds like an old 6V71 Detroit.

I'll bet it was the M11, they have a pretty good bark to them, but other than a low hum in the cab, they are nice and quiet. I love a good R72 sound...years ago we had customers on both sides of Mom and Dad's house with them, both within a mile...I could tell which way each of them was going at any given time LOL The only thing better than an M11 R72 is a pair of them in Stereo Sound!!

The Duetz powered machines were probably more harsh of an exhaust not up close, but I don't think they carry as far as the M11 combines. They have a completely different sound too being a V8
