Neighbor cousin had a 40 right on the highway (ain't it always?) he had 100 pounds put on by local company. The spreader truck didn't have the spreader running for the entire 40, just windrowed out the back (don't ask me how). You could still see it in crop (better crop in the windrows) for about 5 years before it evened out enough not to be noticeable (I think it is still noticeable 10 years later from the combine). This unscientific observation leads me to think you can put a LOT of map down if you can afford it. Take it for what it's worth.
Haha that is an interesting story, Im kinda surprised that it was noticeably better for that long, makes you think maybe we should be putting more out.... I once shut the spreaders off in the computer some how on my spreader in a pasture with Urea on... No grass grew in that streak for a few years haha |
