Only time I've seen a rattlesnake while on a horse, I was trying to cross a pasture draw. The horse would not cross. He wasn't excited or raring up, but he was adamant that he was NOT going to cross there. I couldn't figure it out until I saw a rattlesnake slither out from his little perch on the bank and move out into the grass.
Rattlesnake ???
