SW OH | An old drafty house is not necessarily a bad thing. I grew up in a nearly 200 year old house. Back in the 80s the 6 bedroom windows were replaced with triple pane, low E, state of the art windows when it was in the teens at night. Within a few days everyone in the house was sick. We were all used to that "fresh air" we were getting in our sleep. The house is otherwise comfortable in the winter with hot water baseboards.
I currently live in a 75 year old house with newer windows. Our bedroom windows stay wide open till the low go down to the 30s. They are not fully closed until it's down to single digits.
