We have a neighbor with an R62. Two stacks out the top, it must be a Deutz??

I do know it's mighty loud, but I don't care for the sound. Doesn't sound good like our 6NZ Cat with 7 inch stacks, that's for sure!! Sounds like it's ready to fly apart to me, and when it's idling, it sounds like it's missing.

Maybe it's just me, but the sound of that R62 doesn't get me excited, LOL.

Early R62s were nonturboed. Not very many of them around. I think just the 92 models were the FL513s. In 93 they used the BFL513s. Same engine the 72 had just less power. We used to put the 62s on the dyno and turn them from 260 to 315. lol. They barked then. The nonturbo model was only 228hp. The nonturbo engine doesn’t sound as fun as the twin turboed one. Both have two stacks on them.
